Each of our staff members possesses an informed perspective and sharp point of view regarding the critical matters facing our region and our nation.  Collectively they have been honored with nearly 40 journalism and writing awards. Individually, each couples thoughtfulness with passion and none are afraid to challenge conventional wisdom, take strong positions on specific issues and hold accountable those in power.

The area’s so-called alternative newspapers are loathe to take a stance on matters of community concern, instead substituting increasingly sensationalized features, snide humor, and tons of arts/entertainment listings for strong, distinctive voices and edgy, informed commentary. This leaves Cleveland’s only daily as the lone publication taking advocacy positions and — quite often — executing a specific agenda regarding public policy and political leadership.
